Home Care as an important channel for healthcare delivery requires Think Tank for public policy development, analysis and evaluation. Think Tank can also provide information on shared best practices. The future application of technology in home care is another area that experienced and newbies practitioners may contribute.

To provide a platform for a Think Tank on home care services and senior care and its ramifications, we at ECHO CARE will be sharing some ideas that may be considered or may be practically useful to all stakeholders in home care.

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has brought to the public attention reasons for healthcare delivery at home setting may assume greater importance. With the restricted mobility, telehealth became the method of choice to attend to patients. Both new and long-term patients are consulting their Physicians by video on mobile devices. This “virtual consulting room” will be a commonplace, and there are cost and social advantages. It remains to be seen if the psychological feeling of being in presence of the Physician will be overcome by this new normal.

We at ECHO CARE have been contemplating the use of technology to advance access to healthcare. Subsequently, we shall be publishing within this Think Tank areas that are under consideration or should be considered for Home Care, including Home Health.
